Foley, Ala. — OWA Parks & Resort proudly hosted the 8th Annual Magic Moments Day at OWA, a special Beyond the Moment event that welcomed Magic Moments families from across Alabama for a day dedicated to fun, connection, and creating lasting memories.
This year, 61 Magic Moments families, representing 275 participants, gathered at OWA to enjoy rides, attractions, entertainment, and quality time together. Each participating family includes a child who has previously received a Magic Moment and is living with a chronic life-threatening or acute life-altering medical condition.
As a longtime partner of Magic Moments, OWA Parks & Resort is honored to provide a place where families can step away from daily medical challenges and focus on making joyful memories together. The annual event supports Magic Moments’ Beyond the Moment program, which creates opportunities for wish families to stay connected and continue building meaningful relationships long after their original Magic Moment has been granted.
“Hosting Magic Moments Day each year is one of the most meaningful traditions at OWA,” said Ashley Darby, Director of Marketing OWA Parks & Resort. “Seeing these families come together to laugh, connect, and simply enjoy time with one another is incredibly rewarding. We are honored to provide a place where lasting memories are made and where families can find support and friendship among others who share similar experiences.”
The event reflects OWA’s ongoing commitment to supporting organizations that make a difference in the lives of children and families throughout Alabama.

About OWA Parks & Resort: Award-winning OWA Parks & Resort in Coastal Alabama is owned and operated by the Poarch Creek Indians. OWA’s name is derived from a Creek word for “big water,” and the tropical theme of the 520-acre property was inspired by the Gulf of Mexico, minutes away via the Foley Beach Express.
At the heart of OWA is Tropic Falls, which includes a 23-ride theme park and the region’s largest indoor water park—bigger than a football field and covered by a convertible roof. Adjacent to the indoor water park and connected by a retractable wall is Big Water Bay, a 30,000 sq. ft. wave pool and Coastal Curl wave simulator. Just outside the ticketed areas is Downtown OWA. This pedestrian-only streetscape was inspired by Southern small towns and features numerous options for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The destination resort offers a full calendar of events, from Downtown OWA’s own Mardi Gras Parade to the annual Christmas tree lighting with fireworks and snowfall.
