OWA is located at 1501 South OWA Boulevard, Foley, Alabama 36535.
Pronounced like oh-wah, the name is inspired from the Muscogee Creek language to mean “big water.”
OWA is a joint venture with the City of Foley and its Foley Sports Tourism Complex. In 2012, the City approached the Poarch Band of Creek Indians about a partnership to bring an entertainment destination venue to Baldwin County, Alabama. In conjunction with the integration of the sports fields and event center managed by the City of Foley, the Creek Indian Enterprises Development Authority’s (CIEDA) concept for the project is to create a family-friendly retail, dining and entertainment destination for individuals of all ages.
