Featuring classic cars, kid’s activities, live music, and fireworks
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
(Foley, Alabama) – Labor Day Weekend is here, and OWA has a full lineup of events to help you celebrate the holiday! Start your weekend with the return of the OWA Labor Day Car Show, featuring more than 100 classic cars spread throughout the streets of Downtown OWA. Plan to spend your whole day, as we have an entire weekend of kid’s activities, live music, and an epic firework show to close out your evening.
Returning for its fifth year, the OWA Labor Day Car Show is back on Saturday, September 3, with all proceeds benefiting the Foley First Baptist Church! During this picturesque event, cars of all makes and models will be on display throughout the charming streets of Downtown OWA. With hot rods and custom builds lining the streets, this is one car show you won’t want to miss. Registration opens at 6:30am, with the car show beginning at 9am. Closing out the event, the awards ceremony will be at the OWA Island Amphitheater at 4pm, with trophies for every decade from 1920-now.
The fun continues throughout the weekend with kid’s activities, including complimentary hand-print t-shirts and an interactive scavenger hunt throughout the retail and dining locations in Downtown OWA. Pick up your scavenger hunt map at Paint Party Studios from 2-6pm and turn in your completed map for a fun patriotic surprise! Live music takes center stage on OWA Island, with Brandon Giles kicking off the party on Saturday, September 3, at 6pm, and The Chee Weez continuing the celebration beginning at 8pm. Live music returns on Sunday, September 4, with the Gulf Coast Saxophone Ensemble performing at the Downtown OWA Splash Pad at 3pm, and OWA Island will showcase the talents of Colby Swift at 5pm and Austin Forman closing out the event at 7:30pm.
Wrap up your summer and celebrate Labor Day Weekend with an epic firework show at OWA Parks & Resort on Saturday, September 3. The fireworks go off at 8:50pm sharp. This patriotic show, timed perfectly with the music, can be seen throughout the entire property.
Want to add a little more fun to your holiday weekend? Purchase a Combo Day Pass or Season Pass to Tropic Falls featuring our newly opened indoor waterpark! You can also take advantage of our non-rider ticket, available in the theme park only, and simply enjoy the view!

About OWA Parks & Resort: Award-winning OWA Parks & Resort in Coastal Alabama is owned and operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. OWA’s name is derived from a Muscogee Creek word for “big water,” and the tropical theme of the 520-acre property was inspired by the Gulf of Mexico, minutes away via the Foley Beach Express.
At the heart of OWA is Tropic Falls, which includes a ride-focused theme park, outdoor wave pool (currently under construction) and the region’s largest indoor water park, covered by a convertible roof—now open. Just outside the ticketed areas is Downtown OWA. This pedestrian-only streetscape was inspired by Southern small towns and features numerous options for dining, shopping, and entertainment.
The destination resort offers a full calendar of events, from Downtown OWA’s own Mardi Gras Parade to the annual Christmas tree lighting with fireworks and snowfall. With its own award-winning TownePlace Suites by Marriott, OWA is the place in Coastal Alabama to thrill, then chill.
