Family-friendly ‘Park After Dark,’ scary attractions in Downtown and more

(Foley, Alabama) – Get ready for heart-pumping thrills every Saturday and Sunday through early November at the Gulf Coast’s hottest entertainment destination. Halloween makes a comeback at OWA with another jam-packed season of tricks and treats for all ages. Saturdays and Sundays, celebrate spooky season with Park After Dark, Hyde School Musical, or for the brave at heart, Fear Fest. Plus, film buffs will love the free outdoor Island Movie Nights event series Saturdays on OWA’s Island Amphitheater or the more intimate indoor setting with the ticketed Classic Fright Night Movie Series playing at the OWA Theater, Wednesdays in October.

Saturdays and Sundays, starting Oct. 10 and running through Nov. 1, OWA’s amusement park will bring back everyone’s favorite Halloween-themed fun with its annual event, “Park After Dark.” From daytime activities to family-friendly evening events, Park After Dark is the perfect place to make Halloween memories with the young ones. Enjoy the free trick-or-treating with friendly costumed characters inside The Park at OWA, or purchase a wristband to gain extra access to our hay bale maze lined with your favorite Halloween characters. Plus, when you purchase your wristband, you can have fun all day with unlimited access to the attractions inside the amusement park.

“OWA’s goal is to always have something for everyone, so we have incorporated a family-friendly, non-scary experience inside the amusement park gates,” said Kristin Hellmich, OWA’s Director of Marketing/PR. “Park After Dark is a place for families to enjoy the thrills of The Park, as well as the sweeter side of Halloween with a hay maze and a variety of themed activities.”

If you loved GLOWA last summer, then you are in for a treat! RWS Entertainment and OWA are happy to partner once again to bring you this live show fueled by the magic of Halloween and live performance theater! Get ready for a fright-astic Halloween song and dance adventure, Hyde School Musical. Join Professor Hyde and his students for this family-friendly musical on OWA’s Island Amphitheater, Saturdays and Sundays at 4:30pm, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm through Nov. 8.

Every Saturday in October prepare for the thrills and chills of Halloween-inspired movies at OWA’s Island Amphitheater. Arrive early to find the perfect spot for your group as the movie lights the screen at 7pm. The month started with kid-friendly showings of your favorite, but it won’t remain that way for long! Get ready for everyone’s favorite spooky family and then dive quietly into the rest of October’s horrifying lineup. Movie schedules can be found at VisitOWA.com/Halloween.

Do you know someone who isn’t afraid of anything? Do all things spooky call to you? Plan your trip to Fear Fest, OWA’s socially distanced scare zones which are sure to keep your heart pumping. Try to avoid the monster in the woods; spend a little time alone, or concur your fear of spiders as you prepare to fight your way through “The Purge” inspired streets. You can add a Fear Fest wristband onto your day pass for only $9.99 with our combo package or brave the zones without amusement park admission for just $14.99.

And that’s not all! Horror film buffs will love our Classic Fright Night Movies playing Wednesdays in October, showing at 7:00pm inside the beautiful OWA Theater. Explore decades of horrifying films in a theater setting, with spectacular lights and sound. Tickets are on sale now at VisitOWA.com/Tickets.

There’s plenty to do at OWA this fall. Make it a full night out with the family as you grab dinner in one of the many restaurants on property, catch the new fall lineup, Direct From London with Legends in Concert, laugh the night away with resident entertainer Branon Styles for a live show, or just enjoy a fall inspired stroll through Downtown OWA.

Specific dates for free activities, live performances, and Halloween inspired contests can be found at VisitOWA.com/Events and VisitOWA.com/Halloween. Tickets to the amusement park and seasonal live performances, like Legends in Concert or Brandon Styles Live, can be found at VisitOWA.com/Tickets.
