Celebrate Independence Day at OWA Parks & Resort with a Star Spangled 250th Spectacular

June 22, 2026

Foley, Ala. — Join OWA Parks & Resort as we celebrate America’s 250th Independence Day with a Star Spangled 250th Spectacular on Saturday, July 4. This all-day celebration will bring Downtown OWA to life with patriotic activities, interactive experiences, live entertainment and family-friendly attractions, including the 250th Independence Day Parade, special fountain show performances and a spectacular fireworks finale.

The celebration begins at 2 p.m. with a variety of patriotic attractions throughout Downtown OWA. Guests can create custom keepsakes at the Stars & Stripes Shirt Shop and Caps off to America hat decorating stations, cool off on the Slip, Slide, & Freedom Waterslide, or participate in The Great American Quest Scavenger Hunt.

Throughout the day, enjoy patriotic face painting, a mechanical shark ride, the Stars & Stripes Midway, a living Statue of Liberty performer, food and beverage vendors, train adventures through Downtown OWA and complimentary Coca-Cola Monster Energy drink samples. On OWA Island, guests can watch a live chainsaw artist transform wood into works of art while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

At 4 p.m., the 250th Independence Day Parade will make its way through Downtown OWA, showcasing patriotic spirit and community pride. Following the parade, live entertainment takes center stage on OWA Island, while guests enjoy the dazzling fountain show before the evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display beginning at 8:50 p.m.

Guests are also invited to explore the newly opened OWA Store in Downtown OWA, featuring exclusive OWA merchandise, gifts and commemorative keepsakes. Whether you’re celebrating America’s 250th birthday with family and friends or making memories at the Star Spangled 250th Spectacular, the OWA Store is the perfect place to pick up a souvenir and commemorate the day.

“There’s no better place to celebrate America’s birthday than at OWA,” said Ashley Darby, OWA Parks & Resort Director of Marketing. “The Star Spangled 250th Spectacular offers something for everyone, from patriotic family fun and live entertainment to our parade, fountain show and fireworks finale. We’re excited to welcome guests for a memorable Independence Day celebration and invite them to stop by the new OWA Store to take home a piece of the experience.”

About OWA Parks & Resort: Award-winning OWA Parks & Resort in Coastal Alabama is owned and operated by the Poarch Creek Indians. OWA’s name is derived from a Creek word for “big water,” and the tropical theme of the 520-acre property was inspired by the Gulf of Mexico, minutes away via the Foley Beach Express.

At the heart of OWA is Tropic Falls, which includes a 23-ride theme park and the region’s largest indoor water park—bigger than a football field and covered by a convertible roof. Adjacent to the indoor water park and connected by a retractable wall is Big Water Bay, a 30,000 sq. ft. wave pool and Coastal Curl wave simulator. Just outside the ticketed areas is Downtown OWA. This pedestrian-only streetscape was inspired by Southern small towns and features numerous options for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The destination resort offers a full calendar of events, from Downtown OWA’s own Mardi Gras Parade to the annual Christmas tree lighting with fireworks and snowfall.

For on-site accommodations, relax at OWA’s own award-winning TownePlace Suites by Marriott. And for the RV traveler, Tropic Hideaway is a luxury RV resort that has everything you want, starting with its location at OWA Parks and Resort, just minutes from the Alabama beaches off the Foley Beach Express. The sites are all extra wide and feature a full complement of Wi-Fi and hook ups. Premium locations and pull-through sites are available. OWA is the place in Coastal Alabama to thrill, then chill.
