  • Q) How do I apply to have a float or a walking group in the parade?
  • A) Krewe du cirque is accepting applications until January 30, 2019. The cost is $45 If applying past the deadline there is a $50 late fee. Their email for more information is kreweducique@gmail.com.


  • Q) What time does the parade start lining up?
  • A) 10am


  • Q) What is the schedule for the day (3/3/19)?
  • A)
    • Parade Lineup: 10am
    • Parade Begins: 4pm
    • Second Line Begins: Approx. 5pm
    • Coronation Begins: Approx. 5:30pm
    • After Party: Approx. 6-8pm


  • Q) Do I need tickets to attend any of these events on March 3, 2019?
  • A) No. The parade, coronation, and after party are all free and open to the public.


  • Q) Are bag chairs allowed?
  • A) Yes, as long as they do not impede foot traffic or the parade route.


  • Q) Are pop up tents allowed?
  • A) No


  • Q) Are ice chests allowed?
  • A) No outside food or beverages are allowed. Drinks, food, etc. are available for purchase from Downtown OWA’s restaurants and shops.


  • Q) What type of entertainment will be at the after party?
  • A) There will be DJs, live bands, and several circus-style street performers.


  • Q) What is a 2nd line parade?
  • A) The 2nd line parade will include brass bands, jubilant dancing in the street, and various masked krewe members riders decked out in a wardrobe of brightly colored suits, sashes, hats and bonnets, parasols and banners, melding the pomp of a courtly function and the spontaneous energy of a block party.


  • Q) Is parking free?
  • A) Yes! Parking is always free at OWA.


  • Q) Is handicapped parking available?
  • A) Handicapped parking will be relocated to the left side of the clock tower (in front of Groovy GOAT) due to the parade route. There will be parking attendants directing traffic on the day of the event.
