A family friendly entertainment destination.

With 43% growth in 16 years, Baldwin County’s population is growing fast! Add to that number the over 6.2 million tourists annually and you have a built in population that demands new and varied services. Yet the dining, retail and entertainment options haven’t kept pace with the influx of people. OWA intends to deliver those sought after options — and raise the bar on quality at the same time!

OWA is a joint venture with the City of Foley and its Foley Sports Complex. In 2012, the City approached the Poarch Band of Creek Indians about a partnership to bring an entertainment destination venue to Baldwin County. Originally billed as Blue Collar Country, the Tribe is the sole owner and developer of what is now known as OWA. The City of Foley retains ownership of the sports complex.

In conjunction with the integration of the sports fields and event center planned by the City of Foley, CIEDA’s concept for the project is to create a family-friendly retail, dining and entertainment destination, targeting individuals of all ages.

OWA is designed with distinct areas and districts resulting in a small town feel that invites relaxing and exploring without overwhelming visitors.

OWA is an all-in-one world-class destination that includes…

Summer 2017

  • 44,000 SF of retail, dining and entertainment space with 110,000 opening in 2018
  • a 14-acre lake surrounded by extensive landscaping
  • a 150-room Marriott TownPlace Suites
  • a 90,000 SF indoor events center
  • an extensive amusement park with 21 rides including a breathtaking roller coaster

Future construction includes

  • a state-of-the-art outdoor water park
  • another major nationally-branded hotel with state-of-the-art conference center
  • a resort-level RV park

Even before the excitement spreads and visitors travel to OWA for its outstanding offerings, folks will be drawn to it when they shop at the Tanger Outlet (the No. 2 outlet center in the Tanger portfolio), when they compete at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex (with its 16 multi-use fields and indoor events facility that are already booked several years out), and when they relax on the sugar-white sand beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

Taking advantage of the efficient trolley system running throughout OWA, a family can delight in a range of experience.

Take a break from a weekend of crushing soccer competition for the kids and slip over to OWA for a yummy meal or just an ice cream treat. Or maybe you can grab some grown-up time and enjoy fine dining then catch some music at one of several venues.

Had too much sun at the beach, or maybe it’s a rainy several days and the entire family is bored … splash down at the waterpark. How about less sun — shop the diverse local stores that offer a more intimate and engaging experience than an outlet mall. Your child is having a meltdown — your hotel room is a short hop via the trolley … and you might even get a nap.

Take a peaceful sunset stroll along lake and reconnect with your spouse. Or maybe the two of you can boat out on the lake for a little private time. Get the adrenaline pumping with an explosive ride on a roller coaster that could rival Coney Island! Is that a little much for your 4-year-old? There are more than 20 rides in the theme park to make her giggle and smile. Want to hang out in an old-style Warehouse District and take in some music or wind down in the Town Center? We have it all right here at OWA.

Whether you are a soccer parent, a foodie, fashionista, music lover, thrill seeker or sports fan, OWA will expand your horizons — and make you want to return again and again.

A business-friendly venture in Southern Baldwin County

From the early stages of construction through the on-going management of the property, OWA will provide hundreds of new jobs for South Baldwin County. The positions will range from entry level to executive and from security through food service — with everything in between. In addition to jobs, OWA will be a catalyst for the economy through the generation of significant lodging and retail sales tax for the City of Foley, Baldwin County and the State of Alabama.

We are proud that we can make a contribution to the economic engine of the area and add to the

  • $1.2 billion in retail sales generated in the Southern Baldwin Trade Area (2012).
  • average of $600 million annually in retail sales for the City of Foley.
  • one-third of the state’s total travel dollars that are spent in our southern tourism zone.

OWA will create an even more compelling reason for visitors to return and enjoy all that the area has to offer. And, with the impressive track record and participation of the Poarch Band of the Creek Indians, we are looking forward to a first-class, resort destination that serves locals, tourists and businesses alike.
